Grapevine
We call this section GRAPEVINE because Stantum is headquartered in Bordeaux, France, known worldwide for the Bordeaux variety wine. The way we've been using the word in Touch Point reflects how our customers first learned about our multi-touch technology.
In this edition, the word grapevine connotes growth and the ways our new partnership with Gunze USA (see the announcement in our IN THE NEWS section), will deliver Stantum's multi-touch technology to professional markets in North America.

Based in Austin, Texas, Gunze USA is a division of Gunze Limited, Japan, a multi-billion dollar company and the largest manufacturer of resistive touch panels in the world, employing more than 8,000 people, who work together to achieve international leadership through innovation. Gunze established Gunze USA in 1988 to better serve the needs of the North American market. Gunze USA works with OEMs and system integrators to design the most effective standard and custom touch-panel solutions for a wide variety of applications, including consumer electronics, industrial, automotive, medical, mobile, and point-of-sales.
How Will the Stantum Partnership Benefit Gunze USA and Its Customers?
A number of our customers are interested in incorporating multi-touch features in their products. Rather than try to develop our own multi-touch technology, we sought available solutions. Stantum pioneered the kind of multi-touch we need for the touch-panel solutions our customers want – technology that works with finger and stylus input, can detect finger pressure, and doesn't use much power. Accordingly, we decided to go with the best, most reliable technology – Stantum's, which offers capabilities that will let our custom digital resistive multi-touch modules support screen sizes from 2.5 inches up to 17 inches. Our partnership will also benefit from Stantum's recently established U.S. operation and the added support this will entail.
