CEO Corner
Welcome to the eighth issue of Touch Point, our quarterly online newsletter. Here you’ll find information on what Stantum has been up to and what’s coming up. It’s our way of keeping in touch, which is what Stantum is all about.
We had a lot to talk about at SID Display Week symposium/exhibition, held in Los Angeles in mid-May. Check out In the News; over a three-day period, we announced palm detection for our patented Interpolated Voltage Sensing Matrix (IVSM) technology; introduced our dual-chip high-resolution architecture for IVSM; and broke the news that IVSM now supports Google's Android operating system.
And in between talking to leading editors, reporters and industry analysts and greeting literally hundreds of attendees at our booth, we filed reports from the exhibition as guest commentators for ECN and Engineering Radio. Stantum has also been asked by both media outlets to continue contributing audio segments throughout the year on relevant industry topics and trends; look for these in future issues of Touch Point.
In Notes from Guillaume, Guillaume Largillier – our company’s co-founder and chief strategy officer – writes about how we’re making the use of touch-enabled devices more creative and productive.
In Grapevine, we’re excited and honored that Stantum was named a "Cool Vendor" by Gartner – see what they had to say about us.
Our guest columnist in Take the Floor is Dr. Jennifer Colegrove, Vice President, Emerging Displays at DisplaySearch. Dr. Colegrove’s column focuses on emerging touch screen opportunities. The market potential, she notes, is enormous, with DisplaySearch predicting that total touch screen module revenue will be almost $14 billion by 2016!
Finally, in On the Horizon , note that François Jeanneau, our North American director of sales and business development, has been invited by global market research firm Displaybank to serve as one of the keynote speakers at a conference (Close Look into the Touch Panel Market) they are hosting in October in San Jose, CA. François’ presentation is entitled: "Touch Panels and Tablets".
We hope you find this edition of Touch Point to be informative and valuable.
