CEO Corner
Welcome to the ninth issue of Touch Point, our quarterly online newsletter. Here you’ll find information on what Stantum has been up to and what’s coming up. It’s our way of keeping in touch, which is what Stantum is all about.
Last month at CES we not only had an opportunity to walk the floors and check out the latest industry trends, but Guillaume Largillier, our company’s co-founder and chief strategy officer, and I conducted extensive briefings with a wide variety of editors and leading industry analysts. Check out one video clip of an interview that Guillaume did with RCR Wireless.
In Notes from Guillaume, Guillaume writes about how the stylus is growing popular again – new hardware technologies are enabling concurrent stylus and multi-touch input with improved responsiveness and reliability. Microsoft and Google have also announced important steps toward a better stylus and finger support.
In Grapevine, DisplaySearch recently issued its latest Touch Panel Market Analysis. We met with DisplaySearch’s Dr. Jennifer Colegrove at CES; see what she has to say about us in her report!
Our guest columnist in Take the Floor is Will Stofega, Program Manager, Mobile Device Technology & Trends at market research firm IDC. Will’s column, “Touch: Reliving the Past, Anticipating the Future,” talks about how solutions for touch-based products have evolved over the past few decades, and where he envisions they will be tomorrow – Will’s an internationally recognized expert in this area – I’m sure you ‘ll find what he has to say rather interesting.
Finally, in On the Horizon, we’ll be exhibiting at SID Display Week, June 3-8 in Boston. We’ll be making some significant announcements so keep logging on to our site periodically for further details.
We hope you find this edition of Touch Point to be informative and valuable.
